I created these beautiful art deco-inspired wedding rings for an engaged couple. The design process involved sketching ideas and modeling them in Rhino 3D. Then I 3D-printed prototypes for the couple to review and approve the design and sizing. Based on their feedback, I made necessary adjustments to the sizes.
I printed the final rings using castable resin. The smaller ring was crafted from a lovely peachy-colored 14 karat gold, while the larger one was made from yellow 14 karat gold. To achieve the desired color variation, I mixed 24 karat gold casting grain with different types of alloy. I alloyed the new 14K metals and then cast each ring.
I finished the smaller peachy ring with a matte satin finish, and polished the larger ring to a high shine.
